To attract people in a city of fashion brands, you need to have something different to give you that extra edge. This is the state of art showroom for Hermès in Paris. It was opened in November 2010. The building was originally a old indoor swimming pool (Lutetia) and was completely transformed to…a contemporary show room for Hermès.

The store is not open on Sunday so we came back for it on Monday. There were not many people on a Monday morning.

They sell all kinds of Hermes things here, from their silk scarves and ties, apparel, perfume, table wear, to books and flowers/plants.

The interior is dominated by 2 wooden houses.

The wood color and the design are supposed to convey a sense of warmth and coziness of home.

We plunged into their tea room – Le Plongeoir. The tea room has good selection of exotic teas from China, Japan, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka and English traditional tea. They also have perfumed tea and Vintage (rare and ephemeral) teas -> these ones are obviously much more expensive.

They offer quite a range of Asian tea here. I ordered Fleur de Geisha. It’s a kind of green tea with cherry blossom smell to it. Very nice indeed! & The teapot they used is very japonais (Japanese style).

The tea cup set used is Hermes!

Also ordered a fruit tart/pie with grapefruit, orange and pistachio – an interesting mix. The grapefruit was a bit bitter though…

The chocolate macaron that came with the dish.

You can’t really tell what are the cakes are from the menu so maybe it’d be better to just see which one you want from the display counter here as you walk to your table.

You could also get slices of cakes or bread.
