We travel in Tadao Ando’s Times
We’ve finally come to the last extry about Japan! In Kyoto, Tadao Ando, a Japanese architect famous for his “minimalist” and contemporary style architecture with… (continue reading…)

This young and classy cafe is in the Time’s building. Actually the menu is just ok (so so). There wasn’t a lot of selections. But the green cake we ordered was pretty good.
Afternoon Tea at Cafe Cento Cento.
Actually it was a bit of a “maze” here. The door to the cafe is a bit hidden.

This is the hotel where we spent our nights. Location wise, it’s pretty close to the Kyoto train station and the Kiyomizu-dera area. But we’d still taxi, it just makes more sense and more convenient when we have more than 3 people.
The lobby of the hotel. The lamps “glow” at night when the lights are dim. The bell man that came to greet us so happened to be from Canada as well!

Can’t believe this eh? But we were watching the live Winter Olympics female curling game in Kyoto! We rather watch figure-skating though..

Back to Nagoya
Took the Shinkansen around noon time back to Nagoya and went back to the hotel we were staying at. The hotel happened to have a pretty nice Japanese restaurant in there.
There’s a few “drawers” with ceramic “boxes” holding different delicacies.
If you only see this photo, you might think this is some zoo… or even Africa or something.
Nagoya Castle is about 400 years old now. It is one of the largest landmark and attraction here.
The very traditional and old-looking exterior. Much of the interior has been renovated to become a multi-level museum. There’s even elevator i the castle. From the top of the castle, you can also have a panoramic view of the Nagoya cityscape.
