Papabubble Caramel Artesans

People say chocolate making is art. But have you heard caramel making is also an art? (maybe everything with a certain depth can be an art..?!) But I must say the candy at Papabubble is made in a way like glass-making. The owners of the candy store went to Spain and learnt… (continue reading...)

… this particular style of making hand-made caramel candy. Each piece is unique, colourful and potentially “meaningful”. You could see how they make these colourful candy in the store . But you can no longer take photos of the candy-making process. So if you want to see how they do it, you can visit this blog: here .

The shelves is filled with food colour and artificial flavour. It looks a bit like a chemistry lab… :p

This is passion fruit flavour with the passion fruit look.

The wall is filled with candy with different colourful designs.

Good Luck, Happy Birthday, I Love You 等的造型.
Candy also comes with word designs, such as the world for “wedding”, good luck, happy birthday and I love you. These must have been pretty difficult to make!

The kiwi flavour candy looks like kiwi as well.

1) The candy dough that could not be used to make the candy blocks are left in its original shape to cool. The result is a huge block of solid candy. You can actually buy it.. but I can’t imagine anyone would want to eat it! 2) Lots of people would just buy a basket of candy because they do look quite attractive (although the candy here is not exactly inexpensive). 3) Some of the left over candy dough are made into huge bonbon like this, which people may find a little more acceptable than the big blocks I guess?!

The small candy store is full of people most of the time, especially when there is the candy-making demo. You can check out how they make these colourful and designed candy from its liquid form and its original colour.

The huge pot in the kitchen contains the “raw material” for making the candy. After pulling the candy “dough” into long candy sticks, it is chopped into pieces like this when it cools down and becomes hard.
