Beat the Clock!! -> Apparently during Monday to Friday between 5:00 to 6:30pm, you could order a half a kilo classic mussels and pay the amount according to the time you ordered. So the earlier you order, the cheaper it is! Of course there are other dishes that you could also “beat the clock” with (depending on which restaurant you go to). This…… Belgo Central in the Covent Garden area is pretty good I think.
Entering the Belgo Restaurant. Actually the restaurant is downstairs. The interior decor looks a bit like the warehouse in some action movie. The open kitchen is the first thing you see when you enter the dining area of the restaurant in the lower ground (basement).
They have quite a selection of beers as well! Look at all the fruity beers!
This one is passion fruit beer… mmm.
The regular order with 1 kg of mussels! This is the Provencale pot of moules et frites.
The chicken is quite good as well!
The half kilo bowl of classic mussels and the 1 kilo pot. yum!
For dessert, we had the Berry Pavlova with Chantilly cream and mulled berries. It’s a bit on the sweet side (meaning… swwwwweeeeet) but it’s good for people who like meringue.
The seating area in the restaurant – looks quite casual and canteen like and the waiters are dressed in red monk gowns!! Pretty interesting place!
